SEO is Meant for Which Website and It’s not Meant for Which one?

It’s worth noting that SEO is not meant for everyone. However, if one does it really well, success is guaranteed regardless of the type of business you’re operating. Before we have a look at who SEO is meant for and who isn’t meant for SEO, we would like to explain in summary how we do SEO:
- We’re given a website
- We do SEO audit in order to identify the issues on the website and if everything is okay.
- Analyze the competitors, the keywords they are ranking for, the type of content they are preparing and the pages driving much traffic as well as their backlinks.
- After that, we then track the website’s SERPs position using automated software. This means that on a daily basis, weekly basis and monthly basis we get to know their position on Google and if the SEO strategy being implemented is working or not.
Generally, SEO is great and has long term rewards for your website if it’s done appropriately. However, if not done right, it is dangerous and it can even destroy the achievements you’ve already made. So caution needs to be taken when implementing it or when hiring someone to SEO for you. Let’s now have a look at who SEO is not for.
SEO is not meant for who?
- Any new business offering a service or product that is only available for a short period of time or it’s for emergency. SEO isn’t meant for such a business as SEO is an ever ongoing process and needs time in order for your website to appear on top of the SERPs. In fact to be able to see full results, it will take 3-6 months. So the best solution for such a business is using Google Adwords.
- Websites that are targeting the keywords that no one is searching for them. Such websites are very hard to rank. So it’s always recommended to do thorough keyword research in order to get the keywords that are easier to rank for and have a good search volume.
- Poor Web design experience. If a website was developed with no SEO in mind, it can really be hard for SEO results to be seen. There are a few questions you always need to ask yourself or ask your developer in order to ensure success. For example you can ask yourself:
- Is there a strategy outlined for your web design?
- Has the website information architecture strategy created as well as implemented?
- Is there a content strategy put in place and the basic onpage SEO strategies applied?
- Is there a transition plan developed and implemented?
Asking yourself the above questions will ensure that you develop a great website that is SEO friendly and easier to rank.
4. Websites that are less than one month old. These websites are hard to rank. It’s advisable that within the first month you focus on uploading your content and optimizing them before you begin applying SEO.
5. Websites that totally dependent on SEO. As much as you want to focus on SEO, it’s good not to put all your eggs in one basket. Other sources of traffic should be in your mind too to avoid frustrations.
